Volunteer: After School Store Stocking — Meridian Thrift Store

*The ideal age for volunteers is 10 and older; however, a child’s ability to participate is ultimately at the parents’ discretion. Volunteers under the age of 15 must be accompanied by an adult.*

We are so grateful for your interest in volunteering with St. Vincent de Paul of Southwest Idaho. We believe young people have a powerful role to play in our mission of preventing homelessness and helping neighbors in need. For that reason we are excited to offer this after-school opportunity as a way for our local youth to get involved with our work. This program is designed to give students a practical, hands-on way to serve the community, learn about non-profit work and social responsibility, and earn volunteer hours for school or college applications — all while making a real difference for individuals and families right here in our community. Volunteers will be primarily tasked with restocking shelves, but may also be asked to work on sorting donations and light cleaning.

Attire:

If you have hair long enough to pull back, we ask that you have it pulled back. Dressing in layers is ideal, as you may be working both inside and outside, depending on the task. Sometimes volunteers work in the back of the store processing donations where the doors are open, we ask that you keep this in mind when dressing to volunteer at one of our thrift stores.

When you arrive:

Please ask for one of the managers and let them know you are ready to volunteer. They will direct you to our check-in kiosk and give you a safety walk-through of the store.
