Mondays | 8:00 AM — 10:00 AM
- Volunteers help build and fill food boxes for distribution.
*The ideal age for volunteers is 10 and older; however, a child’s ability to participate is ultimately at the parents’ discretion. Volunteers under the age of 16 must be accompanied by an adult.*
Please take a moment to review our Volunteer Handbook and Orientation materials prior to volunteering. You can access them here.
Attire: Volunteers are asked to wear modest, casual clothing appropriate for a work environment. T-shirts, jeans, and baseball caps are all acceptable. Please avoid clothing with language, images, or messages that could be considered inappropriate or offensive in a workplace setting. Closed-toe shoes are required, and sneakers are recommended. Volunteers with long hair should have it tied back for safety. We also recommend dressing in layers, as some tasks may take place both indoors and outdoors throughout the day.
Parking: Please park across the street from the pantry, on Gourley St., or behind the Whitney Methodist Church. If parking on Gourley St., you may park in the dirt parking spaces (not the giant dirt parking lot), or on the side of the street. Please be sure not to block any of the resident’s driveways if you do park on the street.
When you arrive: Please ask for Jeff, our Overland Food Pantry Manager. He will direct you to the volunteer check in station, then provide you with a tour of the building and let you know where to begin.
